The villages of St. Sigmund – Kiens/Chienes represent the gateway to the old Pusteria Valley route. The sun-drenched river winds its way through verdant alder meadows. The mighty Dolomites dominate the landscape. In Pfalzen/Falzes, we are nearest to the sunny road from Vintl/Vandoies to Terenten/Terento. The road continues all the way to Bruneck/Brunico. Our immediate neighbors – Issing/Issengo, Greinwalden/Grimaldo, Platten/Percha, and Kofl/Covo – date back to Roman times, and act as guardians of the sunny location. The Rastbichlerhof Farmstead – which is still owned by the Tauber Family – was always a welcome rest-stop for weary travelers. The wide spaces which the large river bed affords us are our greatest luxury. There's plenty of room here to spread out and relax. And while you won't be aware of the nearness to the other highlights of the Pusteria Valley, you'll be amazed how quickly you can get to them: Bruneck/Brunico, Kronplatz / Plan de Corones, the Sextener Dolomites, Innichen / San Candido, Toblach/Dobbiaco, Prags/Braies. A short-cut leads us into the magical Tauferer-Ahrn Valley.
